Here is a list of 5 interdisciplinary project-based learning opportunities to help you get started with integrating global education in your classroom. 1. One of my favorite ways to get started in the classroom with global education is to use the World's Largest Lesson which offers many ways to teach about the Sustainable Development Goals. http://worldslargestlesson.globalgoals.org 2. Search your local community for resources to partnership with in your global education initiatives. Here are 5 great resources in Chicago. 1. The National Museum of Mexican Art offers several resources and ideas for integrating global competencies. For example, this year I am working with the Museum to develop a family event at my school to integrate art with literacy to help my students and their families explore their cultural identities. nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org 2. The Shedd Aquarium offers several resources and ideas to help your students get started with the Sustainable Development Goals and take action. www.sheddaquarium.org 3. Both the Brookfield Zoo and the Lincoln Park Zoo offer resources and ideas to help your students work with the Sustainable Development Goals and build their global competencies, particularly in the area of taking action. www.lpzoo.org www.czs.org/Brookfield-ZOO/Home 4. The Field Museum of Natural History offers resources and ideas, particularly in the area of world cultures and histories.
